Timothy Hele | University of Leeds | PDRA
Timothy Hele undertook a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry at Trinity College, Cambridge from 2011 to 2014 under the supervision of Professor Stuart Althorpe. During this time he and Professor Althorpe derived Quantum Transition-State Theory, for which he was awarded the Coulson Prize of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He was then awarded an independent Research Fellowship by Jesus College, Cambridge (2014-2019), which he intermitted to undertake postdoctoral research with Professor Nandini Ananth at Cornell University, USA (2015-2017). Upon his return to Cambridge he moved to the group of Professor Sir Richard Friend (2017-2019) where he was part of a team who discovered the world’s most efficient deep-red light-emitting diode (Nature, 2018).
